Peanut Butter Cookies with a Kiss and a Smile

One of my husbands favorite cookie during Christmas time is Peanut Butter Blossoms and the kids love to add M&M’s because they crack a smile after baking.  Enjoy these peanut butter cookies either way…

PeanutButter Cookies with MnMs

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

METHOD

Preheat of to 375 degrees

1. Beat butter, sugars, and vanilla until creamy.  Add peanut butter, egg and mix.  Mix in milk.

2.  In a separate bowl mix together the dry ingredients – flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

3. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

4.  For M&M’s add to the cookie ball before baking… Then bake until light brown, 6 to 7 minutes.

5.  For Blossoms add your Hershey Kisses after (I prefer mine after, others bake theirs)   Let cool on baking sheets for a minute then transfer to rack to cool completely.

Remember the cookies with the Kisses…. they should cool all the way because even though they hold their shape, they are quite soft at this point.
