October is finally here, for the kids and I that means Halloween Recipes and Crafts like this super easy pumpkin shaped rice krispie treat.
I know it don’t look like much but the girls had a blast making it and memories are what it is about right? Here this easy Halloween Recipe and instructions on how to make a Rice Krispie Pumpkin.
This recipe is very similar to the originalrecipe, but there are some added ingredients, here is what you will need:
4 cups Small Marshmallows
3 tbsp Butter
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
8 drops Yellow Food Color
4 drops Red Food Color
In a large sauce pan, on medium low heat, melt butter.
Add marshmallows (large ones will do if it’s what you have, just use the whole bag).
Keep stirring until melted
Add vanilla and food coloring
Once melted, turn off heat add 3 cups of Rice Krispies cereal to the pot and fold until coated
Let cool for a couple minutes and pour into your buttered mold or pan.
Coat your hands in butter and start to form. For this I enlisted the help of two of my daughters
They started by pressing it down and together to give it a good form
Beside it being sticky, the rice krispie mixture is very easy work with. We shaped our rice krispie into a giant pumpkin including grooves. All that is left to do is make your pumpkin face.
Once your done decorate it and let it cool completely. Then take pictures because the kids will gobble it up. It is that easy.
