As soon as the weather turned chilly I was ready for baking. The family decided it was Halloween Sugar Cookie time! That meant a trip to the store for supplies; cookie cutters, ingredients, food coloring…
The girls put on their aprons and we all got busy baking our favorite sugar cookie recipe. I’m not sure what they have more fun doing; baking the cookies or frosting them..
Once we had a surplus of sugar cookies baked, we prepped for frosting. I love cake decorating bags, but if you don’t have those, ziplock bags work just perfectly. I also had some tubes of black and red left over from my daughter’s nutella jar cake. Anyway here is our tubes of color.. The basic green, orange, yellow and white. The Wilton tubes have sparkly red and black.
One of the cookies cutters was a head stone, that’s not really my thing, but turn it upside down and we have a perfect shape or a Little Frankie. Isn’t he cute?
My oldest kids got in on the fun too. Theirs were cute and some were scarey, but we’ll stick to the cute. Like my daughter’s pumpkin.
