New Year’s Eve is the time when we think about the things that we could have done better during the past year and we promise ourselves that this year we are doing them. People make all kinds of promises to themselves and their families and hope they will achieve what they are planning on. Common New Year’s resolution people consider are connected to getting organised. Many of us suffer from being perpetually in search for something that we can’t find in the huge piles of possessions that are lying all over the place. Therefore, getting more organized is one of the top most wanted changes for the new year. Here are our tips on organizing resolutions that you will most probably want to consider.
The very first thing you can do when aiming to get more organised in the new year, is to de-clutter your house. No doubt there are many things you keep on losing. And if you think about it, all this time you spend on finding what you need is absolutely unnecessary. All you have to do is organise your stuff and never have a problem about finding them anymore. An easy and effective way to de-clutter your place in case you have no idea where to start from and the mess stresses you out, simply put things in order as you go. Walk through the rooms in your home and put things back to their places. Pick up things that are lying on the floor, such as kids’ and pet’s toys, clothes, bags and anything else that is not supposed to be there. Collect magazines, catalogues and newspapers from the coffee table and put them all together in a magazine rack. Pick up shoes that are messily lying on the floor in the corridor and put them on a shoe rack. Collect all accessories and organise them in big mason jars or boxes.
Organize Your Wardrobe
Handling with the mess in a wardrobe is one of the most time-consuming activities connected to organising. Take everything out of the wardrobe and plot them on the bed according to type. Put your shirts on hangers and place them in the wardrobe. Fold your T-shirts, jeans and pant and put them in as well. Put your socks and underwear in boxes and hang belts on a hanger attached to the inner side of your wardrobe door. In less than half an hour you will have an incredibly organised wardrobe and you won’t need to pile yourself up in clothes each time when you’re trying to find a certain item.
Say Goodbye To Things You Don’t Really Need
If you really want to get rid of the mess in your house and you finally want to see it organised, it’s important to say goodbye to things that you don’t really need and are keeping for no reason. The faster you get rid of useless stuff, the better and relieved you will feel. If you think you can’t handle this yourself, ask a friend for help. Your friend will be able to give you an objective opinion and help you get rid of unnecessary items, such as clothes for example, that are just taking space in your house.
Since technology has become such an essential part of our lives, in order to get more organized, you should take care of your e-mail as well. Do a clean-up of your
e-mail inbox and remove old messages that take your time and keep you from getting to more important tasks.
