Martin Luther King Jr Day to a six year old

My daughter gets in the car with her Daddy and begins to tell him about what she has learned.

She has been learning about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

My Ballerina:  Daddy we are learning about Martin Luther King Jr in class

Daddy:  Oh really honey, what have you learned.

Ballerina:  He was born in 1968

Daddy: Do you mean 1929?

Ballerina:  Yea Daddy and you know what else?

Daddy:  What’s that honey?

Ballerina:  He was dreaming Daddy.

Daddy:  Yes honey, he had dream didn’t he.

Ballerina: (proudly) Yes he did…

She is too little now to understand just what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr stood for, but soon she will.  She will learn that bright and wonderful young man, taken from the world at the age 39, helped the civil rights of ALL  disadvantaged races.

Birthday and New Year's

We celebrated my son’s 10th Birthday on New Year’s Eve. It is interesting to celebrate so soon after Christmas and on a Holiday. While Christmas shopping we still have to consider what to get my son for his birthday.

Again this year he chose the camo theme. I painted the kids faces and had shades of green everywhere. He also requested his favorite meal Momma Young’s Special Chicken & Chicken Fried Steak. I’ll post that next.

After filling themselves on cake and ice cream, they played hard. The kids danced the Freeze dance to their favorite tunes, did the “Limbo” and the “Macarana.”

Our 4 year old (on the left) celebrated her brother’s birthday than celebrated New Year’s with the east coast.. and happily passed out.

We continued our celebration and brought in the New Year with my Sister-n-law and our nephew. They had a great time.

Happy New Year to all my friends may your new year be a great one.
