Today is my Birthday – Time to Reflect

Yep it has been another year and I am now a 39 year young lady…

A lot has happened this passed year.  Shortly after I turned 38, baby number five came rushing out:

That was the fastest delivery I have experienced.  Doc broke my water and 1 1/2 hours later, she was there…  ”Hey Mom!”  Poor hubby didn’t even have a chance to drop the kids off at school and get to the hospital.

We had a nice Christmas and I even found my two favorite Christmas decorations:

I got these before hubby and I were married, at one time we both worked at the same little restaurant.  We met a week before I turned 16 and we have been together every since.  December 2010 we were married 21 years.  This year will be 22 years..

Early January came and I wasn’t feeling well so I took one of those Clear Blue Easy pregnancy tests and it was very faint, but positive.  I went to the doctor for a check up and he said there was nothing there and confirmed it with a blood test.  He said he wanted to check me in a couple of weeks.  So two weeks later I returned for another ultrasound when he noticed the lining of my uterus was very thick.  So he sent me off for a batch of blood work and orders to return in a couple of weeks for a biopsy.  I did as ordered and less than a week later I received a copy of my blood results.  I begin to scroll through the list with each line stating “normal” when I come to one that says “positive”.  I look to the left and see it is an HCG test (pregnancy test) low and be hold I was approximately 3 weeks pregnant with baby number six.

So long story short, I wasn’t pregnant at my first visit, but just a week afterwards we conceived.  That explains why baby #5 didn’t want to nurse anymore.  So with a 3 month old in hand and positive lab results in another I tell my hubby.  ”Wow your fertile” and he gives me hugs and kisses.

February, March, April, May went well.  June was time for graduations ceremonies.  My 6th grader was moving on to 7th grade (Jr. High).  My 8th grader was moving on to High School.  My little 1st grader would be moving on to 2nd grade and in the same school, but without her big brother to escort her to and from the playground.

The summer went without a hitch, my son ran youth track then started football.  My  daughter started training for Cross Country.  August came and we scrambled to get the kids ready for school and they were, thank you…   They were ready, eager and excited.

It has been a week since school started and my head is spinning a little bit.  Now it is my Birthday.  A whole year has passed.  I will enjoy my day that will include my son’s 2nd regular season football game, family and my favorite cake…

Have a great year bloggy family and thanks so much for visiting with me.

Wednesday Wamblings – Back to School

How has your weekend been?  Everyone back to school?

This past week was full of running around with all the back to school shopping; clothes, supplies and books for Mom and Dad.  It continued into the weekend starting Friday with my oldest daughter having Cross Country time trials.  She did very well considering it was 95 degrees outside.

Saturday morning started with my oldest having a car wash fundraiser.  We went to Toys R Us for my princesses birthday presents, found almost everything she wanted.  We picked up daughter from car wash and then it was time to get ready to get my son ready for his first regular season football game.

We all love football so we loaded up in the truck to head to the field, even Auntie and cousin.  Here are my girls cheering on their brother:

Here is my son waiting for the coaches play call:

It was a great game and they won!  So we were off to the casa to cool off and have some dinner.  The next day would by my daughter’s birthday and we need to clean house, get wrapping paper and decorate.

My birthday princess woke up bright and early Sunday morning dawning her birthday crown:

She just turned 3

After a brief nap she was ready for her shindig.  As a part of that shindig, Daddy did some grilling.  She loves when Daddy grills hot dogs.

Yummm

Auntie and Cousin helped decorate.  The little girls desperately wanted to blow up balloons. Here is the finished product:

The princess wanted princess everything, which I bought.  Then when looked at cakes to buy (I was too hot to bake) she had to have the red, blue and yellow one.  So I doctored it with some homemade pink frosting, Yumm again.

Shwoo, we had a great time, stuffed ourselves with BBQ, had cake and ice cream.  We were also ready to pass out like it was Thanksgiving Day.  But my day wasn’t done, school was tomorrow.  So off to cleaning and making sure the kids clothes were clean and Daddy’s uniforms were ready.

Monday had arrived and as we all expected they were up before the roosters; 5 am to be exact.  Here they are:

And they are off…

Now it is time for Mom and Dad to squeeze time in for our classes.

Have a great school year every body.

Baby, good byes and floods… Oh My..

Well it has been two weeks since our littlest bundle arrived.  I checked into the hospital at 5 am, they broke my water at 8:20 am and she arrived at 9:50 am.  Guess she couldn’t wait any longer to see her Mommy.  My hubby had just dropped the kids off to school and was about to come be with me when I called him:  “honey, your new baby girl is here…”  “What?!”  Yep she came in a hurry.  I didn’t even have time to wimp out and get my epidural…  I kind of thought the contractions were hurting too bad to fast.. LOL.

We got to go home the next day, I wasn’t sure if they would let me because I lost a lot of blood and actually passed out cold on my nurses.  They were like “don’t do that again.”  Gladly, if I had a choice I wouldn’t have done it in the first place.  I don’t know why, but while unconscience I cracked my two front teeth as well, oh fun..

I got home and things were going well.  My hubby put in for two weeks off to help and did great the whole two weeks.  He will probably get more rest at work (except for the initial catch up.)

On the 1st I received word that my Grandmother passed away.  That was really hard especially with all the hormones flowing.  One thing I can say is she is in a much better place not in pain, not lonely any longer.

The 2nd was my oldest’s birthday.  We barbequed for her and she got to visit with some family.  For her birthday we got her a “Mind Freak” magic kit.  She is still learning all the tricks, it is very entertaining.

On the 3rd I started to feel yucky and I realized my flu like symptoms were familiar and were coinsiding with the pain in my left breast.. Great another breast infection, I had one with my last daughter.  The shivers and fever that accompany a breast infection are almost dibiliatation, I can barely function.  I called the doc and hubby picked up a script for anti biotics.  It took 2-3 days to stop sweating and shivering.

Then came the rain… and it kept coming…  Three days later I went into my girls’ room to clean and make the beds when I stepped into a puddle, “What the H!”   Where our garage meets my girls’ room the roofing was gone (from previous wind storm.)  So all the rain poured down all the roof and collected there, proceeded to go between the walls and soak into my daughters’ floor.  It ruined the bedding and everything else in that area.  I have flood repair people coming with all kinds of quotes.  Sheesh.  So now we need new beds for the girls but they can’t even go in there because of the molding that needs to be done.

So that is what I have been up to, how about you?

Happy 6th Birthday my Ballerina….

You are such a sweet and loving little girl.  Your heart is filled with happiness and joy.

Each day you bring these things into Mommy and Daddy’s life.

Thank you for being you and coming into our lives.

Love Mommy & Daddy

Thankful Thursday – Happy Birthday

LOL, just kidding you don’t have to buy me presents, but it is my birthday tomorrow Sept 3rd..

So I am taking a much needed rest.  Besides baby will be here any day now and I am beyond exhausted…  That might explain my lack of posts, but I’ll be right back to it PROMISE…

I’ll be making my yummy “Pig Picken Cake” and spending time with my family…  There are so many things for me to be Thankful for.

Big {{{HUGS}}} to all my bloggy family..
