Happy Monday Ladies…
Last post I mentioned the hubby was getting in on the healthy eating with me. The best way for me to make this work has been to make these healthy changes go almost unnoticed.
- I found Quinoa flour at Whole Foods and used it to bread chicken fried steak and a light gravy. Next I will try it in my biscuit recipe.
- We found a good olive oil we like that doesn’t taste too green in fact it enhanced every thing I use it with.
- I have been making home made fries (in our air cooker) for my hubby. I didn’t realize how much fat was in frozen fries and tator tots.
- We started using real butter. Sounds scary right? The neat thing is we haven’t used margarine stick or spread at all this past two weeks. We have also used way less butter then normal. So a little bit of the real stuff has gone a long way.
Now for exercise we will be busy. Hubby is hitting the gym, oldest daughter has Cross Country, Son starts football and MY almost 8 yo starts cheer leading. I haven’t been able to do the walking I want to. I have a new injury happening; my knee keeps trying to dislocate often. We bought a knee brace and I have my ankle brace so while at my daughter’s practice I will take a walk around their field.
It took great restraint, but I didn’t weight myself this morning. But I do feel a little victory in my jeans fitting with room to spare.

Great job with the healthy changes, I love making little switches like that towards being healthier!
Woot on quinoa flour. I love quinoa so much and so do my kids. I found a quinoa shampoo at one of the hotels I stayed at.. Haven’t tried it yet. Have a great week
