This time of year, Fall aka. “Birthday Season” we are always looking for new ways to celebrate birthdays with our children. This year we are combining birthdays by having big family parties and little celebrations of their actual birthdays at school. My first grader was allowed to bring cupcakes, so I wanted to bring something different, Chocolate Layered Cute Cupcakes.
My girls are in love with animal print right now so I picked up a little packet at Walmart with little sticks and cupcake tins. Not too long ago I made some Dulce De Leche filled cupcakes where I baked the cupcakes then filled them with Caramel. This time we are going to do the combining while the batters is wet. Here is how to do it:
Follow the instructions on the yellow cake mix and fill each cup half way. I like to use my ice cream scooper.
Next I mixed the chocolate cake mix and add some to a disposable frosting bag. You can use a ziplock as well.
With these cupcakes I poked the piping bag into the cupcake batter inside the tin all the way to bottom and filled till the cup was 3/4 ways full. You could also swirl working your way out the top middle of the cupcake.
Frost how you would like but I needed to make it simple so we stuck to the milk chocolate frosting. If your not worried about mess try sprinkles, caramel or a second flavor of frosting.
Do you like making Cute Cupcakes for the kids school, what are some alternatives?
