Who likes to have all of their things put away in a nice place where they’ll be easy to find? The right answer to that question would be – who doesn’t? You don’t have to be an organization maniac to think about clever ways to store all your things away. No matter how big and spacious your living space is, having an extra room here and there is a good thing. Even if it seems that there is no place you could use to store any of your things away, with a bit of creativity and a good idea, you can make it out of ‘thin air’.
Organize your drawers
We all have that one drawer (or a few of them, to be honest) in which we keep practically everything, from old sunglasses and sewing needles, to paid bills and notebooks; and each time you open this drawer, you make a mental note to clean it up (but you never do). To make things easier and more organized, get drawer dividers from a local store, or make them yourself using old jeweler boxes which you can clip together or simply improvise. Once you do this, you will notice how much more things can fit in your drawers and you will find what you are looking for much easily.
Hang ‘em up
What to do with all those lovely shoes you’ve been keeping at the back of your wardrobe? Is there a better way to get them out of your way without having to additionally clutter your living space with new shelves and cabinets? Good news for all who struggle with piles of footwear: all you need are a few strips of board and you will be able to hang your shoes on the wall without fuss. The good thing is that you can make these shelves bigger or smaller, as you like it, and you can even add some more shelves later on if need be.
Take care of your tools
Not only is it inconvenient to have your tools scattered all over your garage floor and tales, but it can be dangerous as well. Clean up your garage in no time: start by ordering a tool box from an online tool shop, attach glass jars underneath a table or a shelf for all those nuts, bolts, nails and screws, and attach hooks onto walls so you can have a place to hang your ladders and gardening tools. You can do this by yourself over a boring weekend, and end up with neat and tidy garage.
Use the space under your sink
No matter if it’s your kitchen or your bathroom sink, space underneath it is usually unused. Make it more functional by adding shoe organizer on the cabinet door and putting all sorts of things in there: cleaning chemicals, brushes, shampoos, and hair straightener. Simply by cutting a shoe organizer in half with a pair of scissors and hanging each half on the inside of cabinet doors, you will be able to get additional (and much needed) storage space. Similarly, you can use the inside of other cabinets in your home, for example you can store your spices on the back of your cupboard door.
Luckily, there are super-easy and convenient ways to store away a lot of your things without having to spend a fortune on redecorating. These tips are particularly useful if you live in a small apartment and need an additional drawer or at least another cupboard, but simply cannot make it happen. By implementing some of these ideas, you will notice that your home has become more spacious and your things easier to find and access.
