School is just a month away and when that happens I always want to get the house super clean and make any renovations.  Why?  Because I will be running around like crazy with sports, school, birthdays and holidays.  I won’t have any time until March.

My first item on the agenda is the stairway carpet.  We had the carpets clean down stairs so when I look upstairs I see the difference.  Truth is I would like to rip out the carpet on the stairs; not only is it fairly old, but it is pulling away and seems like a hazard.

While looking for alternatives, I found some nice cute Stair Runners:

I also like the thought of using stair rods, that will keep the carpet from pulling away.

What do you think?  There are different colors and textures, but these are my favorite.   Do you use carpet runners and rods in your stairs?

I really like the runner idea. We have stairs that we need to decide what we are going to do with. The carpet on them now is old and ratty looking. A runner with rods might be a great idea. I don’t like the idea of bare wood stairs. The slightest bit of water and it’s slip city.
