Flirty Girl Live Review

I like to mix up my workouts, so that boredom doesn’t consume me and to keep my muscles confused. Usually this entails switching from workouts given by a trainer, workout DVDs, and exercise video games. Trying out a new workout is always fun, having the opportunity to try a flirty workout was intriguing.

Coordination and grace have not been my forte. When at the gym I avoid group exercise classes, for fear of falling on my face. With Flirty Girl Fitness Live, I can take a group class from home and no one can see me! Looking at their photos, I assumed it would be like watching a workout DVD. You know, where everyone knows the moves and can do them perfectly. To my surprise, the classes had real women, some with very little experience. Honestly, when working out, who wants to see perfect? Seeing the teacher correcting the poses, and some people with my coordination issue is a breath of fresh air.

My favorite class is the Stretch Yoga. This is not a beginner yoga, a little more on the intermediate side. Oh my, did the stretch feel great. Karey offered tips on how to modify the moves and the importance of breathing. The great part is I wasn’t stuck making sure I tuned in when she did the class live. Each class is online for the 24 hours following the taping.

Flirty Girl Fitness Live also offers on demand classes. They have a couple of Video Vixen classes. My son was able to see how uncoordinated I am. He had quite the laugh while I worked up a sweat and felt really old. Ah, maybe one day I will be able to move around and feel sexy doing it.

This is a great option for those who workout at home. It is like having an endless supply of workout DVDs. Seven days a week there are new videos posted. Some of the workouts do require equipment, each class has a list of what you need. The pole classes will obviously need a pole, and some grace. Then again, who wouldn’t want to bring out their inner goddess with a sexy workout?

Role Mommy Book Club – “The God Box”

I often wonder what legacy am I leaving my children?

What touching moment, event or memory will they think of?

Do they know just how much I will always love and care for them?

TheGodBoxProject.com

After her Mother’s death, Mary Lou Quinlan, author of ”The God Box” found ten boxes filled with prayers to God; Prayers for family and friends by her Mother.  She put her prayers in the box as though she has done all she can and now it is in God’s hands.  We follow Mary while she deals with the loss of her Mother, heals and finds peace.

I think life has a way of taking us for a ride.  We have so many concerns on our mind…

For those that are right next to you, “Is my family ok?”

For those that are close to you, “My friend’s heart is hurting.”

For the things that seem mundane but important, “How will I pay my bills?”

There are only so many steps we can take to make our family comfortable.  There are only so many ways to be there for a friend.  And there are only so many ways you can adjust a budget.

What I have learned from this book?  I love my children in so many ways and I always do everything I can for them, but that may not be enough.  Whether I write a note in a book or put it in a box, I’ll leave the rest in God’s hands.

This is a beautiful little book and I am so glad that the Mary Lou Quinlan shared it with us.  I pray that when my time comes, I leave my children with something as beautiful.

MimiJumi Bottle Review

I am on baby number six and as usual was having difficulty giving baby a bottle with breast milk.  There are some pretty neat bottles out there, but it always puzzled me that none of them felt or even looked like a breast.  Until now…

Mimijumi is a baby bottle that looks like a breast and is supposed to help transition between breast and bottle.  I tried this on my youngest because she wasn’t taking any of the bottles and I needed something to sustain her while we were on trips.  She actually took this one, she latched on perfectly.

The Mimijumi bottles are:

* Free of BPA and phthalates, the nylon bottle is easy to clean and has a wide mouth for easy filling, a screw on one piece nipple, and a non skid base

* Soft silicon nipple is textured and colored to resemble skin, and includes an integrated ventilation system to aid in the baby’s digestion

You can find the “Very Hungry” baby bottle (8 oz) and nipples retail for $14.99 and the “Not So Hungry” baby bottle (4 oz) is available for $13.99, both nationwide and also online at thenewmomshop.com.

BabyGanics Alcohol Free Foaming Hand Sanitizer – Review

One of the seasons I dread and love the most is fall.  I love that it means the holidays are approaching, but I don’t love the cold season that comes with it.

Like clock work, in September my kids will start coming home sick.  I know it is inevitable, but I have two little ones at home and I will wash my hands repeatidly  in an attempt to avoid spreading illnesses.

After washing my hands with such fervor they tend to be dry and cracked.  At the same time my kids are washing their hands often as well.  Normally we would all grimace when we use the hand sanitizers, “Ouch it burns…”

So when asked me to try our their “Alcohol Free” hand sanitizer, I was all over it.

‘The Germinator’ is a alcohol free and foaming Hand Sanitizer.  It effectively kills 99.9% of germs without the harsh side effects of alcohol.  The kids and I love it instead of the other stuff because it doesn’t dry out or burn our hands.

How does it kill germs without using alcohol?  BabyGanics is made with benzalkonium chloride, a naturally safe and effective substance which makes the sanitizer fast acting and allows for use without water or towels, its non-flammable, will not stain your clothing, and definitely won’t dry out your skin.  In fact, this non-toxic formula actually moisturizes as it cleans and is of course the best choice for even the tiniest fingers and hands.

I recommend this product.  We have been using it for quite some time and we haven’t experienced the same usual discomforts we experienced with our other brands.

BabyGanics ‘The Germinator’ Alcohol Free Foaming Hand Sanitizer is available in a fresh tangerine scent as well as a fragrance free variety and retails for $6.99 (250ml).  This product can be purchased online at www.babyganics.com and nationwide at all Babies R Us, Bed Bath & Beyond and Buy Buy Baby locations.

Restaurant Pro Teflon® Non-Stick Skillet Review & Giveaway

If you cook as much as I do, you’ll know that your kitchen tools will make or break your cooking experience.  Right now I am using stainless steel cookware.  They are nice to display in the kitchen, but if you don’t cook at just the right temperature or use copious amounts of oil your food sticks like crazy.  That is why I’ll be reviewing different non-stick pans.  The first is the Restaurant Pro 12-Inch Open  Teflon® coated Non-Stick Skillet.

I fried eggs in this pan with no oil, they didn’t stick.   I made yummy omelets; I wasn’t able to do that before in my other skillets.  I also made a tamale pie and baked it using this pan.

  • Clean up was easier then I’m use to except for area where the handle is attached, you’ll have to scrub the corners around the bolts, but not too bad.
  • It feels like a solid pan and not too heavy.
  • I like the length of the handle from the pan.
  • The pan gets warm fast and holds its heat, so make sure to monitor your temperature.
  • I didn’t use any oil on any of my recipes except a little bit on my fried potatoes; Significantly Less oil has to be good for the heart!

Here are some factoids from  Teflon® Brand:

Restaurant Pro 12-Inch Open Skillet:

·            Durable Teflon Platinum nonstick interior for added scratch resistance, easy cleanup and quick food release
·            NSF Certified, guaranteeing the highest construction and performance standards
·            Restaurant-styled cookware for fast, even heating
·            Nonslip silicone handle Oven safe to 400°F

The MSRP for this pan is $44.00 but I found it online at various places for starting at $15. If your looking to try a non-stick skillet, that is a excellent price for a restaurant quality pan.

One lucky winner is going to receive Restaurant Pro pan of their very own, here is how to enter:
